Blonde is the hardest colour to get right on your own hair and the easiest to get right on a wig. No bleach, no toner appointments, no six-week grow-out — you put it on and take it off.

Choosing a shade that suits you

Warm shades — honey, caramel, golden — flatter warm and olive undertones, and they are far more forgiving against most skin tones than people expect. Cool shades — ash, platinum, icy — suit cool undertones and need maintenance to stay from turning brassy. If you are unsure, start with honey blonde: it is the shade that works on the widest range of skin tones.

Solid blonde or a root

A solid blonde unit is striking and reads as a deliberate colour. A blonde with a dark root looks like grown-out salon colour, which is more natural at the parting and far more forgiving about matching your own hairline. For melted roots and blends, see ombre and coloured.

Why lace colour matters more on blonde

With dark hair, the lace is the only thing that has to disappear. With blonde, the contrast between light hair and the lace at the parting is much more visible, so the lace grade and the knots do more work. Every blonde unit here is built on HD Swiss lace with bleached knots and a pre-plucked hairline for exactly that reason.

100% Remy human hair, lifted and toned under controlled conditions and conditioned back, so it is not the dry straw that home bleaching produces. Adjustable glueless cap with straps and combs. 150% to 250% density, 14 to 30 inches, in straight, body wave, deep wave and curly.

Keeping blonde from going brassy

Lifted hair is porous — it absorbs minerals from water and warm tones creep in. Use a purple shampoo once a month, no more, because overuse turns blonde grey-violet. Wash every ten wears rather than seven with a sulphate-free colour-safe shampoo, deep condition the mid-lengths and ends, and keep heat under 350°F. Blonde scorches at temperatures black hair handles easily.
