Curly Wigs

A curly wig creates its own volume. The pattern lifts away from the cap on its own, so a 150% density curly unit reads as full where the same density in straight hair would look flat. That is the whole argument for curls: you get body without carrying the weight of extra hair.

The patterns we stock

Loose curly is a wide, soft spiral that falls between deep wave and a true curl — the easiest curly texture to wear to work. Kinky curly is a tight, dense coil that matches natural 4A to 4C texture closely, which is what makes it blend at the leave-out. Jerry curl sits between the two, springy and defined. Each behaves differently in humidity, so pick by where you live as much as by the look.

Length works differently on curls

Curly hair shrinks. A 20 inch curly unit hangs where a 14 inch straight one would, and the tighter the pattern the more it pulls up. If you want curls that reach your collarbone, buy 20 to 22 inches; for past the shoulder blade, buy 26 and up. Stretched out, the strand is the stated length — it just does not hang that way.

How ours are built

100% Remy human hair with aligned cuticles, which is what keeps a curl pattern springing back instead of frizzing into a cloud. HD Swiss lace, pre-plucked hairline, bleached knots. Adjustable glueless cap with straps and combs. 150% to 250% density, 14 to 30 inches.

Never brush a curl dry

This is the one rule that decides whether a curly wig lasts. Detangle only when it is wet and full of conditioner, with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb, working from the ends up in small sections. Dry it untouched. If the curls look limp after a few wears, re-wet with a water and leave-in mix and scrunch — the pattern comes back.

Blending with your own texture

Kinky curly is the pattern that blends best at the leave-out, because the coil size is close to natural 4-type hair. If you plan to leave your own edges out rather than lay the lace, start in curly and kinky curly.
