300 Density Wigs

Density is how much hair is tied into the cap, written as a percentage. Most wigs sold online sit at 130% or 150%. Everything in this collection starts at 250% and runs to 300% — the fullness you see on a red carpet rather than the fullness you see on a shelf.

What the percentages actually look like

130% to 150% is close to average natural hair: fine, light, and it shows scalp when the wind moves it. 180% is the everyday sweet spot, full but not obvious. 250% is visibly thick and holds a blowout shape on its own. 300% is dramatic — big, heavy, and the point is that it looks like a lot of hair, because it is.

Why density matters more as length increases

All hair thins toward the ends. On a 14 inch bob nobody notices. On a 30 inch unit a 150% density wig reads as full at the roots and stringy from the elbow down, which is the single most common reason a long wig looks cheap. Buying density is how you fix that, which is why our 40 inch range never drops below 200%.

The cap has to carry it

A 300% density unit is heavy, and weight on a badly made cap pulls at the hairline all day. Every wig here is built on a reinforced adjustable cap with straps at the nape and combs around the perimeter, so the load sits on the cap and not on your edges. No adhesive is needed or recommended.

Looking after a dense unit

Dense hair takes longer to dry and tangles more readily at the nape, so give it time. Detangle in sections with conditioner in, from the ends upward. Wash every seven to ten wears and air dry on a sturdy stand — a thin stand will not hold 300% density without deforming the cap. Sleep with it braided or bonneted.

Is 300% too much?

For daily wear, many people find 250% is the limit of comfortable. If you want full without the weight, start at 200% in body wave or deep wave, or look at curly wigs, where the texture creates volume without extra hair.
